The Drew Poet Foundation aims to honor its namesake by supporting the fight against Ewing's sarcoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our mission rests on three pillars: raising Awareness, funding Research, and fighting for a Cure.

Awareness.
Research.
Cure.

Our Impact

In 2025 the Foundation took a significant step forward, growing in scope and philanthropic impact. We continued our mission in the state of Michigan and established ourselves in the state of Texas, bringing our total impact to $134,000 for the Atrium Health Foundation dedicated to Ewing’s sarcoma research. We almost didn’t see it happening, but looking back on 2025 it’s clear that the Foundation has upped its game and its impact in the fight against Ewing’s.
The money we raise goes to the Levine Children’s Pediatric Oncology Research Lab in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in December 2025 the Foundation took a trip back to Levine Children's Hospital, where Drew was treated, and met with his care team. We were given a tour of the 4-year-old clinic that is doing impressive research impacting several rare pediatric cancers, including Ewing’s sarcoma. For the past 30 years, treatment options and patient outcomes have remained largely unchanged for those with Ewing’s, but the work being done at the lab is changing all of that. Check out the details from the trip and the work being done at the lab here.
