It’s now been three years since Drew’s passing and we wanted to take the time to thank everyone for their continued support and give an update on the Foundation. Over the past year we’ve continued to honor Drew’s two greatest wishes: that we not be sad and that we do everything we can to find better treatment and a cure. Each is a process and we do what we can each and every day to further each one.
This past year, as life has begun to take on a sense of normalcy in the face of the continued COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve once again begun to plan future Foundation events and this past March held the second annual Drew Poet Foundation Golf Outing in California. The outing was a resounding success and I’d like to once again thank everyone involved in putting it together and everyone who came out to support the Foundation. We’re excited for the year ahead and what it might bring. We’ll keep everyone updated on future events as the year unfolds.
I think it’s worth saying that we’ll never be ‘OK’ with what happened to Drew and what has happened and continues to happen to kids around the world who are burdened with battling cancer. It isn’t OK, and no one should ever have to go through something like that. I think what we’ve learned now three years removed from Drew’s battle is that it’s OK to not be OK sometimes, and as hard as it may be, to be alright carrying it with us each day. Everyone’s continued love and support for Drew’s Foundation and so many others like it are pushing us towards a future where no one will have to learn to be OK carrying that around with them.
Thank you again for your continued love and support.
Matt
