Fall Fundraising Update

This fall has seen the most fundraisers so far for the Drew Poet Foundation. Thanks to the many friends and partners in Michigan who have spread Drew's message even further! We want to thank everyone who made it to our events these past few weeks. Here's a brief recap of our fall events so far:

South Lyon Pumpkinfest

On Friday, September 27, the South Lyon Pumpkinfest kicked off a week of fundraisers in southeastern Michigan. Family and friends volunteered to help host a non-profit tent to raise awareness of Ewing’s sarcoma and the Foundation’s goals. It was a huge success thanks to

Katherine, Craig and Cindy Poet and their amazing group of volunteers who came together to set up a booth, host an activity to draw in the crowd and share Drew’s story to help spread the word. So many people said they were not aware of Ewing’s sarcoma and asked for more

information; that’s amazing! Awareness + Research (dollars) = can lead to a Cure! Thank you South Lyon!

Compari's Dine to Donate Series

On September 29th in Plymouth, Michigan, the Foundation was supported as part of the Dine to Donate series hosted by Compari’s, Fiamma Grille, and The Sardine Room. The Dine to Donate Series is a monthly dinner dedicated to supporting different charitable organizations by donating 15% of all food purchases.

A huge thank you goes out to Sheri Hull, a Foundation founding board member for organizing this event with Julia Hill of the Compari’s family of restaurants.

Salem Rocks Volleyball Charity Night

On October 1st in Canton, Michigan, the Salem Rocks Volleyball teams organized and hosted hugely successful Charity Night. During all three Freshman, JV, and Varsity games the Rocks held a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, had a silent auction, sold t-shirts, and held a lottery all while raising awareness for Ewing’s sarcoma in honor of Drew and his Foundation.

An enormous thank you goes out to Ava and Chrissy Billimoria, Julie Walkley, and the entire Salem Rocks Volleyball organization for all the hard work to put on such a huge event! It was an amazing sea of banners and posters and the event was packed with former classmates, teammates, friends and family.

Thank you to all of the friends and volunteers that have continued to support Drew's cause. Your hard work has really made an impact over this past summer and fall, and we wish you all the best for the upcoming holiday season. We are looking forward to our next event: The 1st annual Drew Poet Foundation Charity Golf Tournament in Lakewood, CA, on October 25. Click here for more information, and we'll see you there!
